Whitney Cummings: Comedy, Robotics, Neurology, and Love Artificial Intelligence (AI) Podcast

#artificialintelligence

Whitney Cummings is a stand-up comedian, actor, producer, writer, director, and the host of a new podcast called Good for You. Her most recent Netflix special features in part a robot, she affectionately named Bearclaw, that is designed to be visually a replica of Whitney. It's exciting for me to see one of my favorite comedians explore the social aspects of robotics and AI in our society. This conversation is part of the Artificial Intelligence podcast. How I Learned to Love Artificial Intelligence

#artificialintelligence

Love it or loathe it, artificial intelligence is the new communications buzzword. And during the next few years, it's going to change the way we work. But should we be fearful of our new robot overlords, or be ready to join the AI revolution? During the past few months, we've been looking at how it works as part of our Talkwalker AI Engine launch. And with that, plenty of research around how artificial intelligence is affecting our lives. But what surprised me the most, was how divisive the subject is.

French schools Learn to Love Artificial Intelligence

#artificialintelligence

Terms like cognitive science, neuroscience and artificial intelligence have been gaining traction in French schools. Researchers and startups are working overtime to create new tools to improve teaching methods and career counseling. Additionally, President Emmanuel Macron recently announced that France's artificial intelligence strategy would focus on higher education and research. Many EdTech startups are already tackling A.I. but where do French schools stand? According to Audencia innovation director Valérie Claude-Gaudillat, "A.I. remains very disconnected from our coursework and teaching methods. It's rarely discussed in the classroom and that is a problem."

Learning to Love Artificial Intelligence - Artificial Intelligence

#artificialintelligence

In March, I attended the WSJ CIO conference in San Francisco and the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) ignited the most passionate discussions. I was surprised how many people were in the Steve Wozniak ("the future is scary and very bad for people") and Elon Musk ("the biggest existential threat to mankind") camps. I think it's time to stop worrying and learn to love artificial intelligence. AI is coming whether you like it or not – and I believe it will have huge and amazing benefits for human kind. Consider its impact on medicine.
